The Sry Gene Test can be done to help resolve unexplained infertility. Some women can be born with only one X chromosome, and may be infertile as a result. This is known as Turner’s syndrome. However, infertility is most commonly caused by other factors, which are checked by other tests. If the other tests are fine, then this Sry Gene Test is appropriate, unless there is a known reason for the test such as family history or symptoms. Symptoms include short statue, webbing of the neck, triangular face, amenorrhea (lack of menstruation), a lacking of secondary sex characteristics, and infertility.
