Hemophilia is uncontrolled bleeding. There are two main reasons for hemophilia, either Von Willebrand Disease or Factor VIII deficiency. Hemophilia is an inherited disease, carried from mother to son. This test can check for the presence of either reason for hemophilia, as well as confirm that the person has the genes for the disease, which they could pass to their male children.

People taking warfarin (Coumadin) or heparin are not eligible for this test from LabSafe. They should consult their doctor for the test.
