HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1) Antibodies, Screening Test + Confirmation

Tests For

  • HIV Antibody
  • HIV Antibodies
  • HIV
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus

Description

A HIV test is used to detect the presence of the human immunodeficiency virus in serum, saliva, or urine. The HIV Antibody test may not be effective in detecting early HIV infection. For a recent suspected exposure (less than 6 months ago), it is best to use the HIV Proviral DNA by PCR amplification test (click on the link below or call LabSafe toll free at 1-888-333-LABS for more information).

This LabSafe HIV general population screening test is a standard antibody test. However, at LabSafe, positive results are confirmed with further testing done automatically. A Western Blot analysis is then performed to ensure identification of the HIV virus. This LabSafe testing method ensures reliability of the HIV Test results by minimizing false positives and confirming initial positive results.

Note that although the CDC referrs people to LabSafe for private STD testing, LabSafe does not work for any government agency or insurance company and we operate independently so that we can serve YOU. Privacy is the core of LabSafe's success.
