Description

Blood type test classifies blood based on the presence or absence of inherited antigens such as proteins, carbohydrates, glycoproteins or glycolipids.

A blood type test classifies the blood into three main blood types, Type A, Type B and Type O. This blood test checks for your blood type, but it does not check for your Rh factor. The Rh factor can be positive (+) or negative (-). If you want to know if you are Type A, B, or O, then this blood test is for you. If you want to know if you are A+ or O- for example, then please refer to another LabSafe lab test, called "ABO Grouping with Rh-hr Genotype."
